Exhibitor Media Opportunities
There are several media opportunities for exhibitors at the EDTA Conference & Exposition. As an EDTA Conference Exhibitor, you should make plans now to plan company and product announcements at the event. This page outlines various ways to connect with the media before and at the conference to make the most of your conference investment.
The deadline to sign up for press conferences and send information for the Media Tip Sheet has passed.
Press Conferences:
All exhibitors are invited to hold a press conference at the EDTA Conference & Exposition. The Press Conference Room (Room 149A) is available December 2-4 on a first come, first-served basis. The room will be outfitted with a podium, head table, microphone(s), projector, and screen, with seating for 30. The minimum amount of time available in the room will be 1 hour, depending on demand.
Media will receive a press conference schedule when they check in. However, exhibitors are responsible for organizing all logistics, including media outreach, for press conferences.

Room Hours:
December 2:
10:00am-4pm
December 3: 11am-4pm
December

To reserve your Press Conference Slot, call or email Jennifer Watts at 202-408-0774 x306 with your preferred 1 hour slot no later than Monday, November 17. Be sure to include a brief description of your announcement, presenters, and the number of people you expect to attend (media and others).
Private Interviews:
EDTA staff will notify pre-registered media of industry executives that will be available for interviews onsite. If you want your company leaders included in this outreach, please contact Jennifer Watts no later than November 17 with the person’s name, title, company, and area of expertise.
Media Tip Sheet:
EDTA will develop a “tip sheet” for credentialed media that will highlight noteworthy news from the exhibit floor. To be included in the tip sheet and drive media to your booth, send a short description of your product/service to Jennifer Watts by Monday, November 24.
Press Kits:
Get your information in front of registered media by bringing 50-60 press kits to the media room (Room 148). Exhibitors may deliver their press kits to the Media Room beginning December 1. We encourage you to have additional press kits in your booth as well.
Media Expectations:
The EDTA Conference & Exposition attracts journalists from every sector: automotive, business, environment, lifestyle and more.
Media Outreach:
The EDTA Conference Media Team is pitching the conference, including press conferences and private interviews, to our media contacts. You also are encouraged to invite reporters you work with to attend the conference.
Please ask your media contacts to pre-register at http://www.electricdrive.org/sites/conf2008/ht/d/sp/i/225/pid/225 to ensure that they have a badge waiting for them at the event.
The EDTA Conference Media Team reviews every media credential request. Before you start pitching to media, please review our media credential requirements (below). Note that someone that you consider to be media may not qualify under our guidelines, and we want to be aware of that, and work out any issues, before the show. If you have questions or concerns about whether a particular person that you want at the event qualifies for a media badge, call Jennifer Watts. This will help to avoid confusion at registration.
Media Credential Requirements:
To be credentialed,
media must submit appropriate verification that
they meet one of the following
criteria:
• Represent a commercial
newspaper or magazine funded by subscription or
paid advertising. An internal organization
publication or website does not qualify as a
"commercial publication."
• Represent a
broadcast outlet.
• Represent a website
reporting on automotive or environmental news
(documentation showing recent content postings
required).
• Represent a publication
issued by a government agency. This does not
include contracted and/or support
organizations.
• Demonstrate that there
is an assignment to do a specific story for a
specific publication, if a "freelance"
writer.
Other:
• EDTA reserves the right
to refuse media registrations and limit the
number of registrations per
organization.
• Media representatives
must be prepared to show organizational
identification.
• All media
representatives must register, including
photographers/camera crew.
• All media
must sign a Ride & Drive release form upon
arrival to participate in the Ride &
Drive.
• Registered media have access
to all conference sessions, events and
functions, except the networking gala on
Wednesday evening. Tickets will be available
for purchase onsite.
• Submission of
application does not guarantee that media
credentials will be issued. Conference
organizers will contact applicants with a media
registration confirmation (or
denial).
